I Tested 12 Different USB-C Hubs – Here Are My Top 5
So I bought 12 of Amazon’s most popular USB-C hubs. And here’s the thing…the highest rated ones on Amazon, performed the worst. The best USB-C hub is going to cost a few more dollars that the top rated Amazon ones BUT you’re getting so much more functionality out of them!
Here are the Top 5 USB-C Hubs (w/ Amazon affiliate links):
1. UGreen Revodok Pro 7 in 1 – https://mreh.ca/4bz4ff6
2. Benfei USB-C Hub 7 in 1 – https://mreh.ca/49ruceA
3. Anker 553 PowerExpand+USB-C 8 in 1 Hub – https://mreh.ca/4bwjIMQ
4. Anker PowerExpand+ USB-C 7 in 1 Hub – https://mreh.ca/3HRNiia
5. Zmuipng USB-C Hub Multiport Adapter 9 in 1 Hub – https://mreh.ca/3HTCb8p

5. Zmuipng USB-C Hub Multiport Adapter 9 in 1 Hub – https://mreh.ca/3HTCb8p
-Among the top 5 tested, with significant drawbacks.
-Slowest charging speed, failing to charge a MacBook Pro in Game mode and losing charge despite claims of 100W (effective 87W after hub consumption).
-Overheats at 110Β°F, the highest in the test group.
-Below-average USB 3 data transfer speeds.
-Redeeming features include two USB-C ports for data and charging, avoiding the “hanging dock look” due to a longer cable.
4. Anker PowerExpand+ USB-C 7 in 1 Hub – https://mreh.ca/3HRNiia
-Considered the bare minimum standard for USB-C hubs.
-Larger size with 7 ports but below-average USB 3 port performance and inadequate iPhone charging in demanding conditions.
-Main advantage: decent SD and MicroSD card transfer speeds, despite not fully supporting SDXC2 speeds.
3. Anker 553 PowerExpand+USB-C 8 in 1 Hub – https://mreh.ca/4bwjIMQ
-Superior to the 7-in-1 model in almost every aspect.
-Priced higher at $50, which may deter budget-conscious buyers.
-Slightly slower flow-through charging.
-Highlights include top 3 SD card reading speeds, fast USB 3.0 data transfer, quicker charging through ports, and a metallic cover for a premium feel. Comes with a carrying bag.
2. Benfei USB-C Hub 7 in 1 – https://mreh.ca/49ruceA
-Surprisingly high performer for its price, making it the best budget option.
-Performs averagely well in most tests except for poor SD card reader speeds.
-Suitable for those needing basic peripheral connectivity without high demands on SD card usage.
1. UGreen Revodok Pro 7 in 1 – https://mreh.ca/4bz4ff6
-The best overall based on comprehensive criteria.
-Heavier than average but lacks an ethernet port.
-Average SD card reader speeds but excels with a longer connection cable, significantly faster USB A port data transfer speeds (800 mb/s), and 25% faster charging through USB A ports.
-Unique for having a second USB-C port, a rare feature among tested hubs.

What is the chip up near your collar ? Solid reviews !
Great vid
keep it up i like the way how simply you explain things
That’s doggo is a way too good of a boy <3
Did you get to try the Anker 555? It has a USB C connection at 10Gbps. Thank you.
I’ve been looking for this channel.

Which ine for android phone with mic in and headphone out?
That dog is in love with him π€π€
Love Monty!
I like Monty !π
You cant hubs with 3 USB C ports? Man I dont know how else to say it but Amazon sells them…also…consider the fact that SD card manufacturers advertise max read/write speeds using a reader that is built along side the card they are marketing the speeds for. I would read the fine print and webchat with customer service of the card makers and see if thats the case.
Sorry, i didn’t listen to a single word you said. I kept looking at your dog. He’s adorable. π
your dog is high
My amazon $40 hub just burnt up now it kills my laptop battery

The HP 240 G8 14-inch Business laptop I have doesn’t come with USB-C Thunderbolt. Do you have any recommendations for a USB hub for my laptop that supports HDMI to USB hub?
Thanks for the great and comprehensive review. Based on your data and recommendation I ordered the Ugreen from your affiliate link. π
Good job! no non-sense review, got the info needed
Urgreen is the best? This video is full of ads without disclosure. No Satechi or Belkin on the list ?
Hyatt Radial
Have you tried the HyperDrive iPad USB C Hub?
Dogo is a lieπ’
Do any of these pass through sound? Im trying to use dex on my Sony tv, and it sounds like it’s a thing for everyone.
Any Recs for a 4 usb-c to 1 usb-c port hubs? I want to plug 4 seagate/western digital desktop external drives using a micro-usb-b to c cable into this…into the back of mac studio TB4 or front usb-c port.Taking up 1 port of the 4 of the mac studio or 1 from the front. I can then transfer data at 10gb/s without "slow down".
That dog looks stuffed π€
My ThinkPad doesn’t have an RJ-45, so I absolutely need whatever hub I buy to have that. Looking on Amazon, I find that your #1 pick, the UGreen Revodok Pro 7 in 1, has a sister model, the UGREEN Revodok Pro 6 in 1, that does have Gigabit Ethernet, 10Gb/s USB-A and USB-C, but no SD card reader, which I don’t need because my laptop already has that. Price is $30. Or, there’s the Pro 10-in-1, that has both gigabit Ethernet, and an SD card reader, plus dual HDMI ports, for $50. Since I don’t need dual HDMI, or the SD card reader, the $30 6-in-one is probably a better choice for me personally – I have several USB SD card readers already, that plug into USB-A ports, so I really don’t need a Hub with another one. The 6-in-one has fewer ports, and therefore fewer circuits, so it probably draws less battery power than the 10-in-one when you are not plugged in to 120 volt power.
Thanks for your review! It’s one of the best, most informative USB-C hub reviews I’ve seen anywhere. I’m getting the UGreen Pro 6-in-one instead of an Anker model, based on your review here.
We need to know….WHICH ONES DO 4K 60FPS VIA HDMI.THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!…
Have you reviewed the ones from Monitormate?
that dog tho
"Fully loaded" πΎ rightly explained ππ
I have two dongles like these. My peeve is the build quality. Both of mine can and do break connectivity. I’m pretty sure it is not my MacBook’s fault. I feel like the cables or solders are fractured. I want to find one that works reliably and has a long life span! The second one I bought because it looked sturdy, so now I don’t trust anything and I can’t find reviewers who explicitly test for that problem.
Did you tested some D Link usb hubs?
I hear an average laptop’s 3x USB3 ports are run by a single USB Controller
which can’t run 2 webcams simultaneously.
Anyone know if a USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 port, can run 2 webcams recording to 2 external SSDs simultaneously? (via a hub or dock?)
Just use _external SD readers_ Then you can also compare them without ewasting your time and money on whole stinky hubs.
I’ve been buying and returning bad hubs for months. I wish I had found this channel sooner! You are the bomb.
do they make dungles with lightening port in it or only usbc
I’m thinking of getting a razor one to match my other stuff from razor
Ugreen!ππ
Got it! It was on my list already!!π
Cant wait to get it. Its gonna be vital in my charging solutions! π β‘ I wanna get a usb power supply for my cabin. Run it off a 12V system for small lights and strips!!
π―οΈcharge by day and use it to light the cabin by night!
My cabin is on grid, but why waste electricity π when i just need minimal lighting at night. Maybe enough power for a couple movies…?
Im still going thru my options but usb lighting seems like a smart choice nowadays!π
Easier than hardwiring off a big battery, and an easy, quick, temporary plug and play type option. Also instead of just lights it can charge and power other devices!
Could get a bunch of adapters and cords as well to make even more versatile!!π
Does the ugreen support 3440x1440p @180hz ?
For accessories, UGREEN & ORIECO is the best ones I always buy from these companies
Just blew number 5 after 4 years of constant use and abuse, I think the 14 in one Zmuipng is winner for me. Yes I bought it only for the 2 USB C ports and my 2 Samsung drives were constantly hooked to it I even played games from them and yes the heat π .
It’s been nine months since this presentation, and I still can’t find a dock or hub with three USB-C ports. Everything is coming out USB-C. I bought a PCIe extension USB-C 5 ports, but it didn’t work.
If you care too much about power passthrough use a PD injector splitter, and plug in the hubs power with a second cable.
I just subscribed. I thought your video on mice was helpful, but I ended up looking at Monty the entire time π I decided that if Monty is in any other videos, I will become a sub. Needless to say, he is, so I subscribed and looking at the topics of your videos, I will find those helpful on their own, but Monty is a bonus.

I’ve been looking for a hub with two usb c ports. Thanks to your review, I just bought the UGREEN USB C 7 in 1 Hub.
